Dr. Molefi Kete Asante is the initial concept creator and purveyor of the scholastic discipline Afrocentricity or Africalogy. He served as Dr. Ivan Douglas Hicks' Major Professor and Mentor as he led him through courework and chaired his Dissertation Committee, as Dr. Hicks received his Ph.D. from the premiere Ph.D. Program in African-American Studies,Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2002.
